Witikon

The Witikon-Zurich district, from the "Schlyfi" onwards, is somewhat separated from the rest of the city, seems almost rural, but since its incorporation in 1934 it has had to cope with an increase in population from 800 to over 10,000 today. Nevertheless, it has retained its village character.

The Meyerhof barn

For a long time, a few families shaped the farming village, which is located at 600 metres above sea level. This is evidenced by some rarities that have come into the possession of the local museum. The listed "Meyerhof Barn" on Witikonerstrasse in the lower village dates back to 1890.
It will host two theme-related temporary exhibitions related to the neighbourhood each year in order to bring "history" and "stories" closer to all interested parties in a lively way. At the same time, the premises are intended to be a meeting place and place for cultural events, as the barn has a neat little garden.
